The Power of Clarity Breaks™
Posted by Cheri Kuhn on
Hello Doers & Achievers,
The word clarity, as it turns out, has quite a bit packed into it. Simply put, your best ideas come with clarity. In her EOS® practice, Cheri coaches her leaders to take regular Clarity Breaks™ - a time to sit, think and reflect on goals and values.
All great leaders practice this in one form or another. Bill Gates refers to these as ‘think weeks’ and Stephen Covey calls this practice ‘sharpening the saw'. We don't want you think this is just for the greats; this practice is beneficial for all of us! Your best ideas and epiphanies will come when you have clarity around who you are and what you want from your life and your business.
Finding clarity gives us confidence and provides focus to make better decisions. It lets us say “no” to things that are out of alignment with our core values. Conversely, it also allows us to quickly and confidently say “hell yes!” when opportunities are a better fit. While there is no one way to do this, allowing distractions will defeat your efforts so make sure if you have electronics they’re on airplane mode.
The following process will help you get started:
Grab some paper and find a quiet place to hang out with your thoughts. Here are a few questions to help you find clarity in your life or your business:
Am I living my personal values?
Am I focusing on the most important things?
Are my long term goals in line with what I want for my life?
Which processes seem overly complicated?
What brings me joy?
What should I delegate to others to leverage my Unique Ability™?
